Must Read Entrepreneurial Books
Between the books required for the University of South Florida's Masters in Entrepreneurship program and my own curiosity, the following 4 books have been my favorite recent reads.
Free The Future of a Radical Price - Editor of Wired Magazine, Chris Anderson takes an in depth look at all the new products that are coming out with "free" as the price tag and the technology driving this paradigm shift. Price of book? Free! (if you download it online in iTunes, Google Books, etc; $20-30 in paperback)
Four Hour Work Week - Timothy Ferriss chronicles how he broke from the 9-5 mentality and created an automated business that allows him to do pretty much anything that he wants.
Art of the Start - Entrepreneur and Venture Capitalist, Guy Kawasaki, explains everything about a startup from start to finish including: what venture capitalists look for and what to focus on in the beginning. I had heard a lot of good things about this book and am seeing it increasingly as required text in entrepreneurship programs.
4 Steps to Epiphany - Serial Entrepreneur Steve Blank takes a different approach when starting a company by focusing on the customer first, then building a business around what the customer really wants. A definite must read if you are interested in startups and technology.
